The Greater Accra region is the next stop of Augustus Goosie Tanoh "rising together camapign tour" to secure the mantle to lead the NDC in the 2020 elections.

He is expected to meet key stakeholders and delegates of the party in greater Accra to canvass for votes ahead of December 7th presidential primaries elections.

The former PNDC Capo officially launched his presidential camapign last week at Anlo in the Volta region where he was overwhelmingly endorsed by delegates of the party to lead the NDC.

Speaking at the campaign launched, Goosie Tanoh as he is popularly known, called on party supporters to rally behind him to reorganize the NDC and restore voluntarism, participatory decision-making, integrity, and transparency.

Upon entering the Volta region for his campaign, he paid a courtsey call on the Awoemefia of the Anlo state and other paramount chiefs as part of activities to kick-start his campaign.

Delegates in the Volta Region said Mr. Goosie Tanoh was best-plced to lead the NDC's reorganization, restore credibility of the party and promote its wholesome values into the 2020 elections.

The delegates maintained the business guru was closely attached to the grassroots of the NDC making him the right candidate for the flagbearer slot.

Mr. Goosie Tanoh will have to beat competition from 11 other candidates of the party's primaries including former president John Mahama in order to represent the NDC in the 2020 polls.

He has been recently working as a consultant and a developer of energy and industrial infrastructure while planning the revival of the agribusiness which he believed could transform the countryside on a more democratic basis and define sensible parameters for state investment in rural development.

On August 30, 2018, Goosie Tanoh formally announced his decision to contest the flagbearer post of the NDC when he presented his letter of intent to the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

Ghanaians, he said, have a choice to persist with bad governance or choose him to spark a change.
