The Western Regional Minister, Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has assured Muslim communities of government's preparedness to make the Zongo Development Fund available to them.
To this end, he reiterated government's resolve to fulfill her campaign promises to better the lot of Ghanaians.
Mr. Darko -Mensah who is also the MP for Takoradi, gave the assurance when he joined thousands of Muslims to celebrate this year's Eid-Ul-Fitr at the Jubilee park in Takoradi.
He asked the Muslim community to pray for the nation to sustain the peace and development.
At exactly 0900 hours, the Muslims were led in a prayer by Imam Mohammed Awal who stood in for Imam Omar of the Takoradi central mosque as part of Islamic traditions.
He said after the end of fasting, zakat which means alms giving, must guide the Muslim community to give to the poor and needy in society.
Imam Awal appealed to Muslim youth to acquire knowledge in a bid to foster peaceful co-existence among Muslims and Christians.
He congratulated the Chief Imam for his role in sustaining peace within Muslim communities in Ghana.
