'Hard work pays in NPP' - Chairman Tom Tom on NAPO's endorsement as running mate

Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori Atta, the Manhyia South constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that the elevation of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to the position of presidential running mate is a clear indication that the party values dedication, honesty, and hard work.

He emphasized that Dr. Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, has consistently demonstrated these qualities throughout his political career.

"It is not surprising that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia selected him as his running mate, a decision that was overwhelmingly endorsed by the National Council of the party," he said during an interview on Okay FM’s “Ade Akye Abia” morning show on Friday, July 5, 2024,

Mr. Ofori Atta, also known as Tom Tom, urged all party members to learn from Napo's example, regardless of their position within the party.

"No matter where you are within the party, even at the grassroots level, strive to work diligently, support others, and seize opportunities when they arise," he advised party members.

Future of Ghana

Regarding the future of Ghana, Tom Tom described the Bawumia-Opoku Prempeh ticket as a promising choice, expressing confidence that they will lead the NPP to victory in the upcoming elections.

Ashanti Region

With the running mate hailing from the Ashanti Region, a stronghold of the party, Tom Tom predicted that the region would show significant support for the NPP in the elections.

"Fortunately, we have a dedicated and hardworking regional chairman in Chairman Wontumi. His tireless efforts were instrumental in the NPP's historic victory in 2016 and 2020," he noted.

"Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is also highly respected in the region for his effective grassroots engagement. With two exceptional leaders in our stronghold, their collaborative efforts are sure to yield positive results," he concluded.
