Ho, Sept 19, GNA- The Ho Central Constituency of the Convention People's Party (CPP) on Saturday launched a website to galvanise support for Mr Michael Kosi Dedey, its Parliamentary Candidate, in the December 2004 elections.
"We have not come back as CPP only in name but want to win seats, especially those that were indisputably our strongholds but shifted to other parties over the years," Mr Elikem Kotoku, Regional Treasurer of the party said.
Mr Kotoku, who is Mr Dedey's Media Manager, said the launch of the website had opened a new dimension to the political campaign. He said the lull in party political activity between 1979 and 1982 had affected the fortunes of the CPP in the constituency known for its orientation towards parties belonging to the Nkrumah tradition. Information on the website - ww.mdedeycampaign.org - includes the geographical position, number of electoral areas and socio-economic profile of the constituency as well as personal details and vision of the candidate.
Mr Dedey, a mechanical engineer, said the website would enable the party to rally support, both within and outside Ghana, for him and the party.
He said a win for the CPP in the coming elections would reduce the threat to the stability of the country posed by the persistent feuding between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Dedey said neither the NDC, during its several years in power, nor the NPP, in the last three-and-half years, had brought any meaningful development to the Ho Central Constituency.
He said his vision was to transform the area economically to positively affect the circumstances of as many people as possible in the constituency through dedicated and exemplary leadership.
