The Ho Central constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta region has targeted a minimum of 80,000 votes for President John Mahama in the upcoming elections.
According to the party, the president has a solid track record in the area to garner such votes.
This was revealed during a health walk organized by the constituency leadership of the party in Ho on Saturday. The event led by the MP, Benjamin Kpodo and MCE, Mrs. Fafa Adinyira was also to commemorate the June 4 revolution.
The Volta regional minister, Helen Ntoso who also participated in the walk with some regional and national executives of the NDC, said the 80,000 votes target was attainable because of the tremendous work done by the NDC government in the last seven years in the region.
She urged party supporters to remain resolute, despite distractions by their political opponents and propagate the good works of Mahama in order for him to be retained.
The MP said the party is determined to increase the 62,000 votes secured by Mahama in 2012 to the 80,000 votes in the November polls.
National officers of the NDC who graced the event include Koku Anyidoho, deputy general secretary, Kofi Adams, national organizer, Kofi Fonu, deputy national youth organizer among others.
