Apostle Sampson Adjei, the founder and General Overseer of Glory and Hope Ministry International, made an impassioned case for supporting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections in a heartfelt address to his congregation.

His call came after a visit from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer and Ashanti Regional Minister Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

Reflecting on a personal experience, Apostle Adjei highlighted the transformative impact of digitalization on his life and urged Ghanaians to consider its broader benefits. “When I travelled from Ghana to the United States recently, I faced an unexpected challenge at the airport. There was an extra luggage charge I needed to settle,” he recounted.

He said he had the cash to pay but was left in a lurch when the payment option required a digital transaction.

“I had the cash, but they wouldn’t accept it. That moment could have been embarrassing. But thanks to the interoperability systems championed by Dr. Bawumia, I was able to transfer the money seamlessly from my mobile wallet to my bank account and settle the charge.”

The Apostle’s story resonated deeply with his audience, illustrating the tangible ways in which digitalization has eased daily challenges for Ghanaians. He emphasized that such advancements, spearheaded by Dr. Bawumia, are essential for the country’s progress.

However, not everyone agrees. Addressing criticisms from a political figure who argued that digitalization does not create jobs or provide food, Apostle Adjei pushed back.

“Digitalization is not just about convenience; it’s about creating an environment where businesses can thrive and people can access opportunities faster. Tell me, how do businesses grow without efficient systems? How do you connect people to opportunities if transactions take days instead of seconds?”

The Apostle’s endorsement of Dr. Bawumia is rooted in a belief that continuity is key to building on the gains made. “We need a leader who has already laid the foundation and understands how to move us forward. Dr. Bawumia is that leader,” he declared passionately.
