The Parliamentary Candidate for the Anya-Sowutuom Constituency for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ,Ms SedinaTamakloe-Ationu, has promised to deliver the seat for her party to become the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and also shore up the presidential votes for President John Mahama in the upcoming December elections.

Speaking to The Republic on Sunday after a thanksgiving service to give glory to God for helping her win the primaries last Saturday, Ms Tamakloe-Ationu, stated that all hands are on deck for the victory of the NDC in the constituency as plans are already afoot appealing to the conscience of the electorates by soliciting for their votes.

The Co-ordinator of the National Youth Authority also stated that, both Carl Wilson and Mr. Allotey who contested the seat with her have since pledged their unflinching support for her candidature by rallying around the NDC flag and campaign vigorously in order to make her the MP for the area to defeat the long-held assertion that the area is an NPP stronghold.

“In NDC, we are all under one umbrella and we stand in unity and not adverse to each other, the real adversary is those who would contest in December 2012 against us and there is no reason why we should not work with each other for a common purpose”, she stressed

Ms Tamakloe-Ationu added that, with the solid networks that she has built whiles working for so long and also on the international scene, she has the capability to “attract the required expertise and hands on deck to ensure that we can change the constituency for a better one”.

She described herself as the “sweetest mother of Anya-Sowutuom” who is concerned with the needs of her children and would do everything within her capacity as their legislator if elected to facilitate and assist the Municipal Chief Executive to help ensure the myriads of challenges of unemployment for the youth, bad road networks and drainages, skills development for women among others are adequately catered for.

“l would win the seat and dedicate it to the memory of Late President John Evans Atta Mills”, she promised

The Anya-Sowutuom Constituency is one of the 45 newly created constituencies by the Electoral Commission which is yet to be legalized by Parliament with the approval of Constitutional Instrument 73.
