It is an undeniable fact that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is still unpopular in the Volta Region despite successive strides made over the years.

It is also on verifiable record that the party had obtained minimal votes in all 7 general elections held in the country since 1992.

However, a Volta Regional NPP Organizer hopeful, Emmanuel Korsi Bodja, says he has gotten the antidote to making the NPP more attractive to residents in the region, which has long been perceived as the political ‘world bank’ of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, as part of his agenda aimed at rebranding the NPP in the region, he would adopt a “multi-strategic approach to entice the larger unsympathetic Voltarian [Ewe] youth” and “whip up indigenous interest in the ideology and philosophy of the NPP in the region” to attract individuals committed to the course of the NPP.

In a communique copied to www.ghanaweb.com , Mr. Bodja stated that, “I will reactivate and maintain a functioning regional and local level party structures with the requisite logistical support”.

This, he is optimistic would not only enable the NPP executives to effectively undertake party activities but "it would also contribute immensely in increasing membership drive, thereby boosting the NPP’s electoral fortune in the Volta Region come election 2020," he said.

Mr. Bodja added he intends to partner with other executives to build a formidable NPP by engaging both the skilled and unskilled grass-roots workforce for the benefit of all members as well as ensure “strong party loyalty through intra-party membership communion”.

The 2018 Volta Region NPP Organizer hopeful, again said he would commit resources into marshalling “a strong vanguard of next generation [NPP] party foot soldiers” to help canvas and enlighten residents on the objectives and visions of the Akufo-Addo government.

Mr. Bodja whose work as the Regional Elections Officer contributed to the increase in votes of the NPP in the Volta Region in the 2016 general elections, stressed he has the resources needed to turn the fortunes of the NPP around in the Volta Region.

“I have established myself in the NPP and have a strong connection with all grass-roots branches of the party in the region. Therefore, my capabilities of wining masses of Volta residents to the NPP should not be in doubt”, he said.
