An aspirant for the National Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Rashid Adam has reiterated that he will make the party more attractive and formidable in the Zongo communities.
According to him, he is bringing on board new innovations and initiatives into the Zongo communities to augment NPP government efforts in bringing the desire development to the people.
Alhaji Rashid said, he will change the face of the Nasara wing to one of the most instrumental executive wing of the party, saying that, the Nasara wing of the party will become an engine of galvanizing support for the party not only from the Zongo communities but from peri-urban communities in the country under his leadership.
The renowned businessman and the former Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator, who was speaking to the Press after he submitted his filling forms to contest for the National Nasara Coordinator of NPP at the Party’s Headquarters, Asylum Down, Accra, said he is coming to work and contribute his quota in making sure that the NPP become more attractive to win more future elections.
The National Nasara Coordinator hopeful who described himself as a full “blooded” NPP member and a true son of Zongo, reiterated that, he knows the challenges associated with Zongo communities thus the need to take the party’s leadership role to improve the lot of the Zongo people.
Alhaji Rashid Adam who is also the General Manager of Apsonic Motors said, he is going to empower Nasara Coordinators across the country to enable them effect positive change in their communities. “It is only when our coordinators are empowered that the party will be very attractive to many good people in the Zongos".
He said, as a successful business man he will brand politics into business, saying that, he has business partners around the globe who are ready to support him bring the needed development to the people in Zongo communities.
“I will be linking each and every one of them (Nasara Coordinators) to those investors so that they can look at their interest areas. I am going to empower our coordinators to make them more financial independent to support the fortunes of the party”. He emphasized
“I have positioned myself so well and I strong believe that I’m in a good position to bring development to my people, I am not coming in as National Nasara Coordinator to be at the receiving end, I will contribute whatever the National Executive is supposed to contribute, I won’t be at the receiving end and with that I strongly believe that will improve the standard of the Nasara wing and it will be respected as such….”. He said
The NPP National Coordinator hinted that, through a partnership with a friend, one of the Zongo communities in the country will get an ultramodern Moslem hospital to cater and provide quality health delivery services to the people.
“All the necessary things has been be cleared, the hospital equipment and medical valuables are in… what we are working on now is the site for the hospital”.
Alhaji Rashid said, his leadership will address some of the major challenges in the Zongo communities including unemployment, education, health, water and sanitation, adding that, with the establishment of the Zongo Ministry and the Zongo Fund, problems of the Zongos will be reduced but propel the Zongo communities for massive development.
The Asponic General Manage is very optimistic of his chances, saying strongly that, his support base is very strong among delegates of the party because he is a grass roots man who have touch many lives within the party. I have tour 8 out of the 10 regions and I have visited each constituency and I am very happy with the response”.
Alhaji Rashid Adam started as a polling agent for the NPP in 1992.
In 1996 he was among the four (4) young persons including Information Minister, Dr. Mustapha Hamid, Deputy Energy Minister, Dr. Mohammed Adam Amin Anta, and the Mayor of Tamale, Hon Iddrisu Musah Superior who were speaking for the party in the Northern Region.
He was a campaign aid for the late Alhaji Mustapha Ali Idris, MP for Gushegu-Sanbonjida (now Tamale South).
In 2000 he became the first Northern Regional Coordinator of Nasara Club and in 2004 was elected the Youth Coordinator of the Nasara club.
The NPP National Nasara Coordinator hopeful also served as an aid to the late Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama.
Meanwhile, 14 persons have since filled their forms to contest the National Nasara Coordinator of the NPP awaiting vetting.
