Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Bagbin
Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Bagbin has said he will rebrand the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to make it more attractive and marketable to defeat the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 polls if elected as the flag bearer of the biggest opposition party.
According to him, the rebranding plans he has will ensure that the NDC wins the 2020 polls by a huge margin.
The NPP, led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections, won by over a million votes against the NDC, which was led by the then-incumbent president John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking to Kwabena Prah Jnr. (The Don) on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM on Wednesday, 14 November, Mr Bagbin, who is contesting against Mr Mahama and 10 other aspirants for the flag bearer slot, said: “The leaders in the party, the cadres, the founding fathers, the 31st December Women, have all shown that they are solidly behind me.
“We will rebrand the NDC and market it and I am sure we are not just going to win, we are going to retaliate by beating them more than one million votes in the next elections.”
He added: “2020 is ours, not for NPP. I am fired up and inspired to do more for the party and mother Ghana.”
