A campaign lead for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Sammy Awuku, has shared a story of his humble beginnings, noting that every great person has a history of strife.

Speaking on the Thursday, May 9, 2024, edition of Peace FM's Kokrokoo morning show, Sammy Awuku revealed that he had to sell water to cater for himself and the education of his sisters.

"Every great man has a scar; it could be emotional, it could be psychological, it could be physical. They have a scar that reminds them of their worst moments and the things they have been through before getting to where they are. For some, when they remember such moments and they blink, they end up crying...

"At a point in time, I had to sell pure water to support my sisters when they were going to Holy Child because we were five siblings; four sisters, and I was the only guy and, unlucky for me, I was the last born.

"Everyone had help, but when it got to my turn, there was no one coming after me, so it was I and I," he stated.

On the same program, Sammy Awuku emphasized that elections have consequences and, therefore, implored young voters to elect Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party, which has proven to have their future and interest at heart.
