Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
The flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has told the people of Ghana that he has to be made President because he has worked hard as a Vice President.
He says comparatively, he has worked harder than any other Vice President the country has had in the fourth republic hence the need for him to be given the mantle.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was speaking at the Youth Connect in the Ashanti Region when he made this known.
“The reason why I want to become President is that I’ve worked so hard as a Vice President. My work speaks for itself. If you compare the various Vice Presidents under the Fourth Republic, you can tell that my work rate stands out.
"If you ask John Mahama to point out even one policy initiative he spearheaded as Vice President he can’t point out. I have 33 policies I’ve spearheaded. So the score is 33-0. So please promote me to become president because I’ve passed as Vice President,” he said to a charged crowd in the Ashanti Region.
The Vice President reiterated the fact that he has eight years to seek the mandate of the people while John Dramani Mahama has four years.
To him, he stands to be more accountable for his actions since he will still need the people of Ghana when he seeks their mandate in 2028. Therefore, he believes it is best to vote for someone who will be accountable than someone who has asked for a honeymoon even though he has just four years to be president.
