Abuakwa North MP Gifty Twum Ampofo, has revealed that she has built a 20-seater modern place of convenience and provided boreholes for his constituents since she became the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.
According to her, the electorate will assess her on her ability to provide these facilities and several others.
Speaking to Class News, she said: “JB Danquah-Adu (the late MP for the area) was a philanthropist who always dipped his hands in his pockets to give to the needy or the weak. He always assisted parents who were financially constrained to take care of their children in school and will do all he could to bring development that will have a direct impact on the livelihood of the people and that is what I am also doing.”
“When I got into the constituency as MP for the area, the first request my brother’s people – that is people from Old Tafo – was that JB Danquah-Adu wanted to build a modern place of convenience for [them] but unfortunately he passed on. Fortunately, as soon as they said that, there was some funds so I mobilised that and within five weeks, a 20-seater WC place of convenience is read to be commissioned at Old Tafo.
“If you do all for your people and they don’t have a place of convenience, you will spend more on their health, and so I have been able to put up a 20-seater WC public place of convenience with a borehole. I have also enrolled two young persons with disability in school and given their mothers some money to cater for them.”
