Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Greenwich Properties Limited, Frederick Quainoo, has filed his nomination to contest the Weija-Gbawe constituency primaries to become the Parliamentary Candidate on the thicket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the constituency in the 2020 elections.

He promised to put delegates and his constituents first in all his activities so that together, they can build a better constituency.

Fred Quainoo who has joined the race to lead the party in the constituency, has so far garnered massive support and is doing remarkably well in making delegates understand his vision for which delegates have endorsed his bid.

Addressing supporters when he submitted his nomination forms at the Weija-Gbawe constituency office on Tuesday, Fred Quainoo indicated that hearts and minds of the delegates are roaring with emotions for change and that his decision to contest is to honour that call.

“My decision to join this contest is as a result of the numerous calls I received from several delegates from Weija-Gbawe Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) urging me to avail myself to serve this great constituency. I have also further consulted many political leaders and stakeholders in the constituency. My candidacy is therefore based on the solid conviction that I will win the primaries and stand a better chance of maintaining the Weija-Gbawe seat for the NPP,” he said.

According to him, the Weija-Gbawe constituency is running in “circles” and the grassroots of the party in this constituency are tired of same old stories, hence deserve better.

He stressed that the time where delegates cry are over because together, they will channel their common pain into a common purpose.

“I will fight for you as hard as I can. The days of grabbing power for selfish political and material end, through divisive means are over. The days of assigning moral equivalence to failed promises are over. The days of being used as a “voting machines’ are over. You shall get what you deserve. I will put you FIRST. We must change the divisiveness and power grab. People should not be allowed to benefit from divisive politics. The hearts and minds of the delegates of Weija-Gbawe are roaring with emotions for change,” he said.

He also pledges his readiness to bring the change Weija-Gbawe needs, making their voices heard, saying “I am committed to do things differently. I am committed to get results for my constituents. I am ready to SERVE. I am ready to be your ‘Chief Servant’. I WILL NOT take any emolument for serving my people. Any entitlement due me, shall be channeled into specific Constituency Projects.”

Frederick Quainoo also called for a fair contest and called on all aspirants to do their campaigns devoid of impediments in the quest to subject the performance of their MP to the votes of the delegates.

“Even as I kindly call on the current Member of Parliament and all potential aspirants to submit themselves to the delegates to hear what they think of us, vote on qualities and competence, I plead with all to conduct themselves in the most decorous manner in the ultimate interest of the party and the constituency,” he said.

He espoused his belief that the collective wishes and interest of the people should always override the individual interest of elected representative of the people; therefore political leaders should always be changed anytime they decide to let their parochial interests override the interest of those they are supposed to represent.

He revealed that there is a disconnect between the grassroots of the party and the elected representative of the people in Weija-Gbawe Constituency currently and that the time has come for that to change for unity to prevail towards the overall development of the constituency.

Frederick Quainoo is a politician and an Estate Developer who has been involved in the activities of the NPP since early 2000s.

He said: “I yearn to bring fresh ideas and positive solutions to the myriad of problems facing our constituency. I have so much political experience, having worked on a number of political activities for many of our party leaders,” and urged delegates to massively endorse him to become their candidate who will lead them into victory in 2020.
