The member of Parliament for the Shai Osudoku constituency, Honourable Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo has pledged her commitment to encourage the youth in her constituency to take up leadership positions.
She said the youth are a very critical aspect of the development agenda for her constituency and under no circumstance will she leave them behind. Hon Ocloo made this known in an interview with pressmen in Dodowa on April 1, 2017 when she attended the launching ceremony of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra world youth day celebrations.
“I told the youth I want to bring them into leadership. If the youth, especially those in my constituency will come together and participate actively in programmes like this, they will help shape the development of our dear constituency. I feel excited to see this number of youth here in Dodowa. I am resolved to working with them for the good of Shai Osudoku constituency” Hon. Ocloo said
Hon. Ocloo further stated that assisting the women in her constituency with soft loans and building the Dodowa market are other things dear to her. She said these interventions and others will help reduce the burden on her constituents who are predominantly farmers.
“You know shai Osudoku is predominantly a farming community and so I am trying to help the women with soft loans and building the market for them. You saw the state of the market as you came into the town. It is nothing to write home about and I want to do that for them” she added.
Hon. Ocloo also urged the elderly in society to help form the youth saying they who once were youth bears a great responsibility to instill in younger generations godly and moral lifestyles for the betterment of themselves and society at large.
