Intensify education on deregulation - NPP followers told

Winneba, March 3, GNA - An executive member of the Effutu Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Kofi Taylor, on Tuesday charged members of the party countrywide to intensify their public education on government programmes and policies, especially on the petroleum products deregulation policy.

Addressing members of the party at Winneba Abasraba Zongo electoral area, Mr Taylor drew followers of the party's attention to the country's economic position and the need for government to device effective means to mobilize adequate revenue to implement development projects. Mr Taylor, who is the constituency treasurer for Effutu, advised members and supporters of the party to maintain a high sense of discipline and restrain during their sensitisation activities on government policies and programmes.

He reminded NPP supporter in the Regions of the need to collaborate efforts with their District Assemblies in educating farmers, workers, big time and petty traders and artisans on the Mutual Health Insurance Scheme to make it succeed.

Mr Taylor said one thing NPP faithful must not forget was that as far as politics and human development were concerned, the views and plans of the ruling party cannot be whole-heartedly accepted by its opponents however, promising results such programme and policies might attract in future.

"It is for this reason that we have to develop a huge heart and patience to enable us to tolerate all divergence views to help the party to achieve the goals set under the positive change chapter two before the end of President J.A. Kufuor's second and final term in office". Turning to leaders and supporters of the Effutu constituency branch in particular, Mr Taylor called for a lasting understanding, unity and co-operation to hasten up the implementation of the various programmes designed to better the lot of the people.
