“I have been wondering for some time now why the NPP flag bearer has adopted a rather unusual approach to his media relations. I think something is wrong with either his media handlers or Nana Addo himself. All you see now is press releases from the party stating one thing or the other he has said, that’s very strange to be honest with you” he stated.

Presidential staffer Kojo Adu Asare who was speaking to The Republic Newspaper in an exclusive interview on Tuesday said he has observed that the NPP flag bearer has resorted to an unusual approach to relating to the media which is unlike him.

Adu Asare’s observation was triggered by some pictures circulating on social media where Nana Addo is seen in a pose with teenage movie star, Abraham Attah, paying a courtesy call on him. The visit was to invite Akufo-Addo to the Abraham Attah Ghana Summit, which is scheduled for July 18.

The former Adenta MP said the NPP flag bearer has not only sidelined the traditional media in his campaign but he has also resorted to tweeting and putting out information on Facebook to update the public on his campaign. He said Nana Addo’s decision to leave his regular media houses behind when he’s going on campaign or attending a social event is baffling and that he expects the media to find out why.

“All the media houses I have spoken to have equally shared my concerns and observations. They tell me they do not get invitations anymore from the media team of the NPP flag bearer and that all they get are press releases and sound bites leaving them with no choice but to use it as it is. And so I want to know if Nana Addo is playing hide and seek with the media and for what reason. Is he scared, he will be found sleeping at functions or he’s afraid the public will find something about he’s been hiding from all of us now for some time,” he asks

He said it is important for Nana Addo to come clean on the matter to allay the concerns shared by a section of the public that something is not right about Nana Addo for which reason he’s decided to play hide and seek with the media.

Mr. Adu Asare’s concerns come in the wake of a similar one by a Pro NDC group # I choose Jm who have also observed that the NPP flag bearer is resorting to campaigning in the media instead of hitting the ground and campaigning.
