Koforidua NPP branch collapsing?

Fri, 29 Oct 2004 Source: Chronicle

A die-hard NPP activist, Mr. Theodore Kofi Aboagye, has appealed to the President to intervene in the affairs of the party?s branch in Koforidua to save it from collapse.

According to him, if the president did not step in to straighten things up, it could affect the party?s chances in the forthcoming elections.

Describing himself as a footsoldier of the party, Theodore K. Aboagye claimed that there was no unity or peace within the party, which had resulted in discontent among party members in the constituency.

The NPP activist who raised these concerns in a letter made available to the press was of the view that there should be teamwork among members to help the party recapture power but expressed concern that this was not the case in the constituency.

Describing the Koforidua constituency seat as a stronghold of the party, he accused the regional and constituency executives of not doing enough to ensure that the party maintained the parliamentary seat.

?I cannot sit down for the party to go on collapsing and collapsing,? he said, adding, ?It will be painful if we lose the seat.?
