Kwabre West NPP Chairman sworn into office

Kodie (Ash), Sept 24, GNA - Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Kwabre West Constituency whose swearing-in was deferred following a protest after last week's constituency elections, has now been sworn into office. This followed investigations that revealed that he hailed from the area, resided in the district and fully qualified to contest any position at the constituency level.

Mr. F.F. Antoh, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP who performed the swearing-in ceremony at Kodie on Saturday, stated that thorough investigations were conducted into the allegation and it was found out that the allegations were unfounded and could therefore not disqualify Odeneho Appiah.

He said if the allegations levelled against him were true he would not have been given the approval to contest the NPP parliamentary primaries in 2004.

Mr Antoh advised all the constituency executives to be truthful and work as a team since it is only through concerted efforts that they could bring progress to bear on the party. Odeneho Appiah appealed to all members of the party to co-operate and support the executives in their drive to canvass for more members so as to win the general elections in 2008.

While pledging to personally explore avenues to raise funds for completion of the NPP constituency office at Kodie, he also appealed members of the party to contribute to its completion.
