Kwahu chiefs heap praises on Mahama

The Chiefs of Kwahu and Afram Plains in the Eastern region have heaped praises on President John Mahama for what they say is the numerous developmental projects ongoing in their area.

Speaking at the pre-Easter traditional Council meeting, the acting paramount chief of the Kwahu Paramouncy, Akyemfuor Asiedu Agyemang said the Mahama-administration has "given the area its fair share of the national cake”.

He expressed the gratitude of the Kwahu people for the decision by government to locate the second campus of the Eastern University in the area, announcing a 600 acre land allotted by the chiefs for the construction. He also mentioned the ongoing construction of Community Day Senior High schools, the upgrade of some basic schools and many more others taking place in the area.

The chiefs, However, appealed to the government to improve the road network in area such as the one from Ekyi Amanfrom to Donkorkrom.

They also appealed to the Volta River Transport to increase the daily operational hours of the ferry from 8 to 12, in order to facilitate movements of people, goods and services.

The Eastern regional minister Mavis Ama Frimpong who attended the durbar listed the various infrastructural projects ongoing in the area and urged the people to vote for the NDC come November.
