Social Commentator and Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Prince Anuwar-Sadat Amadu has urged the powers that be to as a matter of urgency reward committed and valuable patriots who contributed significantly to his party’s 2016 historic victory.
He was reflecting on the gains of the NPP a year after their Koforidua National Delegates Conference where they elected their National Officers to stir the affairs of the party for the next four years.
He noted that staunch patriots like Nuhu Bayorbo Mahama (former Deputy National Organiser) who is affectionately called ‘The Grassroot General’ needs to be given an appointment in the Akufo-Addo government to empower him to continue to do more for the party grassroots.
It will be recalled that private legal practitioner and cousin to the president, Mr. Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko also made a similar call on 8th July, 2018, immediately after the Koforidua Conference for the party to reward committed and hardworking grounds men like Nuhu Bayorbo Mahama.
Prince Sadat believes that rewarding such loyal and committed Patriots will send a strong signal to other young politicians that hard work and loyalty indeed pays well. He shared his taught on the issue on his Facebook Wall.
Below is his full statement on Facebook:
Exactly a year today, 'The Grassroot General', Nuhu Bayorbo Mahama (former NPP Deputy National Organizer) lost the National Treasurer bid in 'The Flower City', Koforidua. With hindsight, Nuhu's contribution to our 2016 victory cannot be underestimated. And his continues support for the grassroot of our party is worth commendation.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP), especially the youth has gained considerably from the dexterity of this affable young man; and even stand to gain more and in a better fashion if his given an appointment and empowered.
Working closely with Senior Nuhu Mahama, I can say without a shred of doubt that, not only is he measured in his utterances, but also very tactful in his execution. He is imbued with valuable competence and experience to effectively build relationships and coordinate affairs towards efficient grassroot mobilization which we need dearly going into the 2020 election.
