Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has rallied the nation to overcome the politics of division, lies and deception.
He said it was important for the political parties and their supporters to be mindful of their conduct and do away with anything likely to endanger national peace, unity and cohesion.
He slammed what he said was the desperate attempt by some people to excite ethnic sentiments as they struggled to woo voters and labelled that as tasteless.
He was addressing separate political rallies in Nkrankwanta, Diabaa and Yaakrom as part of his five-day campaign tour of the Brong-Ahafo Region.
He was accompanied by leading members of the party including Mr. John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, past and present national officers and Members of Parliament (MPs).
Nana Akufo-Addo reminded everybody that there could not be progress amid confusion and chaos and that was why they should be responsible in their actions and inactions.
He assured the people that the NPP would fix the troubled economy and transform the living conditions of the people, when given the power to govern by voters.
He said his government would live up to expectation and would never disappoint.
Nana Akufo-Addo said the party was asking for the political mandate of the people to efficiently and transparently manage the resources of the nation to put Ghana on the path of real growth.
It was not about their personal comfort and convenience, he added.
He said he was deeply upset at the poor manner the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) was being managed and vowed to make sure that it was run properly.
Again, it would take steps to make the cashew industry more vibrant – attractive and rewarding.
Mr. Kyeremateng repeated the party’s determination to implement the “one district one-factory project”, alongside the establishment of industrial sites in all the border towns across the country.
