Koforidua, Dec. 9, GNA - A member of the Liberian Elections Commission (LEC), Mr Washington V. Farmah has commended Ghanaians for the transparent and peaceful manner they comported themselves, during the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary polls.

Mr Farmah, who was part of a team to study Ghana's electoral process, told the Ghana News Agency in Koforidua on Thursday that the example was worthy of emulation by other African countries. He said apart from some few hitches at some polling stations, the entire process was generally free and fair.

Mr Farmah observed that even though it was difficult for the Electoral Commission, to satisfy the expectations of all, the Commission had done well to ensure transparency and fairness.

He said the experience LEC had gained in Ghana, would be replicated during Liberia's General Election in October 2005.
