London bombers are not friends of Africa- MP

Accra, July 12,GNA-Whoever perpetuated the bombing of underground tube stations and a bus in London are not friends of Africa, Mr Kwabena Adusa Okerchire, Member for Nkawkaw, said Tuesday.

" This terrible bestial act of inhumanity was calculated not just to confuse the G8 leaders summit in Scotland but to let us know that they, the terrorists, are no friends of Africa."


In a statement made on the floor of Parliament, he said:" they could not be bothered about the plight of Africa, that whether the G8 leaders are thinking of Africa or not is not their business." He said:" We in Africa, in particular should condemn the bombing with all the vehemence that we command."


Mr. Okerchire, who is the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, said terrorism is not limited to any particular national at this time adding, "we are all at risk and we are all in danger."

"I salute those who fell as martyrs in the struggle for a world free from terrorism."


On Thursday, July 7, some underground train (tube) stations in Central London were bombed by unknown people resulting in the death of about 52 people with over 400 injured.
