Exhibition of the biometric voters’ register in the Hohoe Municipality, has not gained high patronage since its commencement last Saturday.

When the Ghana News Agency visited some exhibition centres in the area, they were without queues and people trickled in to check their names and other details in the register, ahead of the December 7 polls.

At the E. P. JHS Ahado A and B centre with 1,965 registered voters, 452 people had checked their names.

Mr. Wilberforce Drai, exhibition officer of the centre, said the register contained incorrect ages and wrong spelling of names.

Mr. Senyo Attipoe, exhibition officer at the Hohoe Central Mosque centre, said some people have lost their voter identification cards and others had the names wrongly spelt.

He said 332 out of the 2,614 registered persons had checked their names as at Tuesday, and turnout at the Volta Cinema Palace and E. P Primary centres was low.

Mr. Kwabena Karikari, Hohoe Municipal Electoral Officer, expressed surprise at the low turnout because the exercise had been given publicity.

He said the Electoral Commission could correct all mistakes in the register, and asked Ghanaians not to panic.
