Accra, May 4, GNA - Mr Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, has urged members of the party to remain calm. "When one is appointed a leader representing the interest of the whole nation, policies and programmes would have to be carefully implemented," he said.

Mr Chaie, who was addressing members of the John and John Fun Club in Accra at the weekend, appealed to NDC supporters not to be deceived by the propaganda being peddled by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that President John Atta Mills was slow. He said; "we have fundamental needs which are education and sanitation facing the constituency and this is where we will be committed to working at instead of looking at whether the President is slow or dull." .

Mr Chaie said the situation in which development of the area were unattended to left much to be desired and promised that with effective interactions among the electorate, a lot could be achieved. He said he would lead a crusade to ensure that the government comes to the aid of the people in the constituency. Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, Chairman of the Club, appealed for the rehabilitation of Sukura Market as well as some roads in the area to enhance the economic activities of the people. He said the club would also create awareness and consciousness among the people, especially the youth, on the need to concentrate on things that would move the nation forward.
