The regional tours rolled out by the President, John Dramani Mahama, to account to Ghanaians on his performance and to justify why he should be retained in office, would this week take him to the Brong Ahafo Region, the home region of his wife; Lordina Mahama.
It is, however, unclear whether Mrs. Mahama, who had stayed away from her husband’s ‘Accounting to the People tour” to the Western, Eastern, Volta regions, will tomorrow accompany him as he inaugurate infrastructural projects executed by his administration and inspects those ongoing.
The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) enjoys overwhelming support from the Brong Ahafo. Indeed, the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, former National Organiser of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan and Cocoboard boss, Dr. Stephen Opuni, who are stalwarts of the NDC, hail from the region, seen as one of the major food baskets of the country. But is unclear if these personalities will be part of President Mahama’s entourage tomorrow.
The president is expected to stay in the region for three days as part of the fourth leg of his tour of the ten regions ahead of the November 7, general polls.
The President as part of the tour will inaugurate some Community Day Senior High Schools completed in the region, and also inspect works on some road networks under construction, especially the Cocoa Roads
