The Youth Wing of the Reformed Patriotic Democrats (RPD) wishes to remind the President John Dramani Mahama that he was elected to find solutions to the many problems facing us as a nation and not to be explaining them.
The reminder is occasioned by our observation that, the President within his short stay in office has exhibited to Ghanaians that his Government is struggling to overcome the challenges confronting the country.
“The president must fix our problems rather than telling us how those problems occurred. We admire his lectures but what we want him to understand is that we did not vote for him to lecture us”.
The Youth Wing of the Reformed Patriotic Democrats is also concerned about the failure of the President to honour the many promises he gave to Ghanaian during the 2012 electioneering campaign especially on energy.
“The President assured Ghanians in 2012 during the manifesto launch of the NDC that when the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is retained in power the issue of load shedding will be no more in Ghana but what do we see now”, he quizzed.
“Our cedi is depreciating against the major currencies, our economy is declining, we are unable to pay statutory funds. We wish to again remind the President that though he has a –four year term, he should speed up the development process before its too late.
The RPD is more concerned about the current state of our country because it (RPD) remained the only political party that openly declared its support for the NDC during the 2012 elections.
We are by this statement expressing the party’s readiness to contest the 2016 general elections if measures are not put in place to put the country back on track.
