John Dramani Mahama, the NDC's 2024 flagbearer, has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's government for mishandling the small-scale mining sector, accusing it of gross mismanagement and abuse of power.
According to Mahama, the government has seized control and is unfairly favouring its political allies, rather than promoting the sector's development for the greater good.
John Mahama spoke out against the government's management of the small-scale mining sector during the 3rd Annual Transformational Dialogue on Small-Scale Mining at the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani on Wednesday, May 15.
He argued that the government's policies have harmed the sector and promised to introduce a fresh vision for small-scale mining that prioritizes the interests of all stakeholders if voted into power.
