The District Chief Executive for Gomoa West, Mr. Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, has appealed to citizens of Gomoa to comport themselves throughout the campaign for the December polls as they did during the Biometric Voter Registration exercise.

He said unlike other areas where the centres for the exercise virtually became boxing rings, no adverse report was received from any of the registration centres in the two Gomoa districts.

Mr. Aidoo-Mensah said this at the Ahobaa Ketseaba celebration by the people of Gomoa Ngyiresi near Apam.

Ahobaa Ketseaba and Ahobaa Kese festivals are celebrated by the “Borbor Fantse” people who migrated from Tekyiman in the Brong Ahafo Region to their present settlement around Mankessim.

The festivals are celebrated in May and August to commemorate the sacrifice of one Ahor, a citizen of Gomoa Maim, who laid down his life to save his people from a plague which was killing them in hundreds a day.

Mr. Aidoo-Mensah donated a poly tank to the community for storing water, to relieve them of the perennial water problem facing them and pledged to donate a public address system for the town as well as a grader to level a site to be used as a durbar ground.

Nana Araba Ahenmaa I, the Queenmother of Gomoa Ngyiresi, appealed to the government to rehabilitate the road from Kyiren Junction to Mando that is in a deplorable state.**
