Mensah-Bonsu is NPP parliamentary candidate for Suame

Kumasi, Aug 6, GNA- Mr Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, the Member of Parliament for the Old Tafo/Suame was on Friday elected the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the newly created Suame constituency at a delegate's congress in Kumasi.

All the 77 delegates who attended the congress voted for him. Addressing the delegates after the elections, Mr Sam Cudjoe, Regional Secretary of the party, said the country has witnessed peace, stability and development during the three-and-a-half years reign of the NPP government.

He stressed the need for supporters of the party to educate the people about the policies and programmes of the government. Mr Cudjoe told the delegates that the task ahead was challenging and appealed to the executives at the various levels to organise themselves to ensure victory in December elections.

Mr Kwame Osei-Prempeh, NPP parliamentary candidate for the Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo constituency, commended the delegates for the peaceful manner the election was conducted.

Mr Mensah-Bonsu in his speech thanked the delegates for electing him and said under the NPP government the people had seen a lot of development.
