Accra, March 4, GNA - Mr Mike Nii Nortey Oquaye, a lawyer and an aspiring Member of Parliament for the Dome/Kwabenya Constituency, on Saturday picked a nomination form at the New Patriotic Party Constituency Office amidst brass band music.
He paid a filing fee of 10,000 Ghana cedis in bankers draft and was issued an official receipt covering the payment.
Mr Moses Osei Fordjour, Constituency Party Chairman, informed Mr Oqyay= e Jnr. that in addition to 10 people endorsing his nomination form, the form had to be returned by March 18 for onward processing. After collecting his nomination form, Mr Oqyaye Jnr. went on a float through the main market street assuring his constituents of better living conditions when voted into power.
He said he would liaise with youth organizations in the constituency and groom them to take up leadership positions.
Mr Oquaye Jnr said he would create a viable communication network and construct a Senior High School with ICT facilities for the constituency. He would also make sure that a health post and a police station were built to assist the community.
He said he would push forward the electronic voting procedure to prevent cheating and vi olence adding that his doors would be opened to all constituents.
Mr Oquaye Jnr. is the third candidate to pick a nomination form apart from Lawyer Adwoa Safo and Robert Mensah Bonsu to contest the Dome/Kwabenya seat. 5
