Mills calls for vigilance on Election Day

Kadjebi (V/R), Nov 13, GNA - Prof John Evans Atta Mills, Presidential Candidate of National Democratic Party (NDC), has called on the Party's loyalists to be extra vigilant and unwavering on Polling Day, December 7.

He said the Government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was employing devising ways and means to retain power and urged NDC supporters to keep their guard.


Prof Mills made the call at a regional rally at Kadjebi on Friday to end his four-day tour of the Volta Region. He said a government of the NDC would not leave Ghanaians with "riches or gold" but would implement policies that would give the people self-respect and dignity.


"The Government of the NPP has dashed the aspirations of the ordinary man with its unyielding socio-economic policies that have worsen the plight of the masses".


"A vote for the NDC will mean peace, dignity, steadfastness and development."

Dr Obed Asamoah, National Chairman of NDC, appealed to the electorate to turnout massively to vote for the NDC. He said a vote for NPP meant increase in fuel price, hike in utility bills and increase in taxes, high unemployment level and politics of ethnicity.


Mr Ludwig Hlodze, Deputy National Organiser of the NDC, said demonstration of affluence by government could be seen in the number of cars in the President's convoy.


"There are at least 32 cars in the President's convoy each costing some 80,000 dollars or more."
