Incredible! This is loyalty and commitment at its highest. This was my conclusion when I witnessed the trooping in of many NPP women at Akim Tafo to attend a meeting to discuss how they can win more votes for His Excellency, Ambassador Victor Smith, despite a heavy downpour in the town on Sunday 17th June, 2012 at 3:30 pm.

These women, determined and willing to support the development of the Abuakwa North Constituency, defied the rains and rushed out for a weekly meeting, a platform for developmental oriented NPP women who have joined hands with the NDC to vote for the NDC parliamentary Candidate, His Excellency, Ambassador Victor Smith to represent them in Parliament.

The weekly meeting is a platform for sharing ideas and plans on how to propagate the developmental oriented policies of the National Democrat Congress (NDC) candidate at their work places to win more NPP members to improve the social economic development of the people.

The women, who were confident about Mr. Smith’s ability to bring transformational development into the constituency noted that the few developmental initiatives witnessed in the constituency is significant and a testimony of his resolve to help his people.

Greeting with their slogan, ‘’Imputuo’, And Responding With Imputuo Papabi’ to wit: Development, and is responded with, extraordinary and quality development’ Members at the Sunday meeting encouraged each other to continue to spread the good works of Mr. Smith to others so as to win more votes to propel him in his noble ambition.

They praised him for his humility, compassion and determination to serve his people in spite of the fact that he is not the Member of Parliament for the area. “Why won’t we vote skirt and blouse to make Mr. Smith our MP for 2013-2016 when the qualities of a development-oriented leader cannot be found in the NPP candidate,” they queried?

They asserted that they will no more be ridiculed by the NPP leadership who are claiming that even when a cat contests on the party’s ticket, it will win. “This is unacceptable and besides, it is an insult to NPP members in the area,” they lamented.

In an interview with some of the women, they indicated that Mr. Victor Smith is the right candidate for the constituency, especially when the NPP candidate who had the opportunity to represent them under ‘even a cat can win’ philosophy brought no development to the people.
