Kumasi, Oct 25, GNA- The members and supporters of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), have been asked to step up their efforts to explain the Party's Political Manifesto to the electorate.

Mr. George Abofra, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the newly created Oforikrom Constituency in the Kumasi metropolis, who made the call said the Manifesto was the panacea to the socio-economic woes of the country.

Addressing a rally organised by the NDC at Ayigya Zongo, to launch his political campaign, he said it would be difficult for the average Ghanaian to appreciate the vision of the Party if the contents of the Manifesto were not explained to the electorate.

Mr. Abofra appealed to Party loyalists not to engage in acts that could mar the success of Election 2004.

These he said include assault and intimidation of political opponents and the defacing of the political posters.

Mr. Abofra asked the Party's polling agents to be vigilant on the December 7 polls, to check all electoral malpractices.

He promised the electorate that that he would intensify secular education especially in the Zongo's when given the mandate as Member of Parliament.

Alhaji Alhassan Ibrahim, the Deputy Constituency Secretary of the NDC, called on Muslims to use the Ramadan period to pray for peaceful elections.
