Dunkwa-on-Offin, Sept. 29, GNA - Dr Mark Kurt Nawaane, National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for Upper Denkyira East, has pointed accusing fingers at his political opponents for allegedly making moves to incite the people of Denkyira against him.

According to the aspirant, his desire to contest the parliamentary seat was being seen as a threat to the continued victory of the NPP in the constituency, hence the vicious campaign of lies.

Dr. Nawaane was speaking to the press at Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Centra= l Region to

refute the allegation that he had insulted the people of Denkyiraman as a result of their

voting pattern. He called on the people not to make the mistake again by voting for th= e NPP candidate

since he had miserably failed the constituency. "The MP has demonstrated that he does not have the welfare of Denkyiraman= at heart, he

came to celebrate position and look after his own welfare", he said. The asprirant who is also a private medical practitioner, said there was no way he

could use derogatory remarks on Denkyiraman who had conferred on him the

"Nkosuohene" title in 2006. Dr. Nawaane pointed out that he had the full support of the people and that he would

not allow such moves to kill his ambition to serve the constituents. Re-emphasizing his commitment to a clean and decent campaign devoid of acrimony,

Dr. Nawaane appealed to the electorate to shun politicians who used foul language in their

electioneering campaigns. He emphasized that the NDC and President Mills would win the 2012 elections, not

through dirty tactics but on the issues. 93The NDC is going to win the elections by

campaigning on issues and not by using dirty political tactics", he said, and called on the

followers of the party not to be deterred by false propaganda. Dr. Nawaane said the NDC was a listening party and a winner and therefore those who

joined the party would always become winners. 93You will definitely succee= d when you

become part of the party". He stressed that he would not deviate from his vision to lobby for the tarring of road

network that linked Denkyira to other neighbouring traditional areas, as well as those

within Denkyira itself. "In addition, I will use my mobilization skills and ability to bring the chiefs and people

on board for the development of Denkyira", he said.
