NDC Seriously Collating December 7th Elections

The Acting General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Bede Ziedeng has hinted that, the party has begun collating the results of both the Parliamentary and Presidential elections, to compare it with what has been declared by the electoral commission.

Mr Ziedeng told a local radio station, PeaceFM, on Friday, December 31 that, the Party is seriously embarking on this exercise because it has lost confidence in the results declared earlier by the Electoral Commission, which they lost in some constituencies which they beleived they won.

According to the Acting NDC General Secretary, some of the delcared results do not reflect the real situation on the ground, more importantly when a recount in four constituencies has vindicated their position. He said when the results are finally gazzetted and the NDC is convinced that they were robbed, they will use legal means to pursue their case.

He emphasised that the NDC has not ruled out any means by which they could prove their case right in court, if they are convinced that they have been robbed.

In a related development, the Director of Research and Monitoring Desk of the NDC, Dr Tony Aidoo has denied media publications to the effect that, a National Executive Council of the party has held a party on the 29th of December, to discuss means of haulting the inauguration of President Kufuor for a Second Term, come January 7th 2005.

Dr. Aidoo said both the Presidential Candidate and Parliamentary Candidates have accepted the outcome of the elections, except in a few constituencies, where the NDC is disputing the results.
