Accra, Dec.7, GNA - The Odododiodio Constituency Women's Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was on Thursday inaugurated with a call on party members to unite to enable it win Election 2008. National and Regional Executives, who took turns to address the gathering, predicted victory for the Party and called on members to maintain greater discipline in the upcoming National Congress to elect its presidential candidate.

The inauguration is the first of a number to be replicated in other constituencies.

The women clad in Party T shirts and colours danced to new campaign songs released one after the other by the Executives as they took turns to address them.

Mr Jonathan Tackie-Komme, Member of Parliament for the area, noted the inauguration had come at an opportune when Ghanaians were suffering and needed a saviour like the NDC to redeem them.

He urged members to remain solidly under the umbrella (symbol of the Party) and to bring on board other women to make the Party's dream of going back to the Osu Castle in 2008 a reality.

He called on the Party Leadership not to impose their will over members but to seek their views and mandate in all they did. Miss Mariama Sinare, Deputy National Women's Organiser, said the current Leadership of the Party did not want to witness a repeat of the violence that characterised the last congress at Koforidua. =93We don't want our Party to be associated with violence because it would go against us so even if we are provoked let us control our temper=94, she told the gathering.

Miss Vivian Ankrah, Regional Women's Organiser, swore in the Executives made of Vivian Nartey; Ladd Amartey and Georgina Akabutu as Women's Organiser, Deputy Women Organiser and Second Deputy Women Organiser, in that order.
