... for peddling falsehood about Gov’t policies

National Youth Working Committee (NYWC) of the ruling National Democratic Congress
(NDC) has slammed Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic
Party (NPP) for peddling falsehood continuously about the government policies and
called on him to apologise to Ghanaians.
“Akufo Addo has exhibited hypocrisy, double standard and extreme
emptiness because he and the NPP are creating false impressions that President Mills
is rather taking the nation backwards,” the NYWC has stated.
Addressing a press conference at the NDC Campaign Centre at Kuku
Hills in Accra yesterday, the Spokesperson for the group, Mr. Peter Otorkunor said
Nana Akufo-Addo has always been taken Ghanaians for a ride, hence his misguided
statement.
“Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP think that the average Ghanaian voter
is gullible and unintelligence, hence their penchants for throwing out a lot of log
wash in a desperate attempt to win back political power,” he stated.
Mr. Peter Otorkunor told Ghanaians to ignore any future statement Nana
Akufo Addo would make because he has no meaningful message to tell them, hence his
“empty noise”.
He said President Mills’ achievements of two years are unprecedented and
incomparable to the eight years achievement of former president John Agyekum
Kufffor.
Mr. Otorkunor described as a pack of lies the NPP seventy-two page book
which was dubbed: “four years of positive change, so far so good.” According to him,
it contains nothing but the travels of former president Kuffor, School children
performing gymnastic displays at the Independence Square, drinking wines with
diplomats and many other silly things.
According to the group, the editorial team chaired by Mr. Dan Botwe has
stayed away from the book because it was full of untrue statements.
He said, “They have refused to comment because they know the document is
not authentic but an embarrassing on the part of the NPP and if we may ask why Akufo
Addo has refused to preach the achievements of former President Kuffor,” he asked.
The spokesperson said it was a shame for Akufo Addo and the NPP to
criticise the achievements of the Mills’ administration and his regional tour.
