NDC Youth call on leadership to burry differences

The Upper East Chapter of Youth for Leadership (YFL), an affiliate organ of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) has called on the leadership of the party to bury their differences and work towards retaining power in the 2012 election.

The group made the call on Thursday in a Press Release issued and jointly signed by its Regional Chairman, Mr Adabre George, the Regional Organiser, Mr Ame-etego Rockson, and the Secretary Mr Abeseba David, and copied to the GNA in Bolgatanga.

“Bearing in mind the letter written to the Presidency by the NDC National Chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei on 10th January 2012, the YFL thinks the entire NDC hierarchy must wake up from their slumber and rescue the party from disintegrating, especially as the election draws nearer.”

The YFL also impressed upon all defeated Parliamentary Candidates at the just ended primaries to join hands with their counterparts who won to retain power in the December polls , stressing that all hands must be put on deck by working now and not to wait untill the last minute.

According to the YFL, they have already started working feverishly in all the nine districts in the Region to ensure that the party wins massively in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

They called on those members of the party who had threatened to vote "skirt and blouse" to desist from that for the sake of the party, stressing that it must be avoided since it could affect the victory of the party.

They however debunked the allegation being leveled against them by some members of the party that they were part of the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings (FONKAR) and explained that the YFL was formed in 2007, before FONKAR and was aimed at fighting for unity and sustainability of the NDC as a party.

The YFL is a youth movement that was formed throughout the country in 2007 with the primary aim of projecting the legacies of the founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings.
