Press statement friends of John Mahama

Ndc youth group in the northern region friends of John Mahama have express their displeasure about the re-assignment of the Minister of Youth and Sports Evies Afriyie Ankrah.

According to the group,he has committed himself to the job and so see his

re-assignment as not been fair.

The group said he is one minister of sports who had work tirelessly not only to boast the football fraternity but also other minor sports in the country.the statement signed by spokes person for the group Ibrahim Hardi said at

the party level, he has been instrumental in helping so many youth groups

across the country to find their niche and also develop their understanding of

the principles that underlie the NDC’s Social Democratic philosophy.

We the youth are intensely inspired and motivated by him and at this time we

truly feel disadvantaged since his capacity to continue to be our champion has

been diminished and subdued through his exclusion. The group said the poor showing of the black stars at the on going World Cup should not be the only justification to consider in the performance of Mr. Afriyie. The statement said,he has committed himself not only in serving government diligently but also serving the grassroots of the party. a versatile minister of his stature should be re-assignment to a ministry where he can impart his knowledge instead of where he is been assign to. The

statement described him as a man of integrity, hard working, intelligent who

inspire the youth. Haven served under president Mills and president Mahama’s

Government Mr. Afriyie has acquired enormous experience that puts him on a

higher platform to confront any task assigned to him by the president in any ministry.

His experience gained before entering government and now is enormous and very critical

that we find his reassignment as unfair and to the detriment of the party,

government and Ghana as a whole.
