Juaso (Ash), Dec. 5, GNA - The National Democratic congress (NDC) on Sunday called on their polling agents, who would be assigned to various polling stations to open their eyes and minds so that they could check any event that would lead to stealing of the polls by the NPP.
Mr Daniel Ohene Agyekum, National Executive member of the NDC, who was speaking at the NDC final rally in the Asante-Akim South constituency at Juaso, said the NPP leadership knows that the underground work they have done to steal in the elections that is why they have predicted 96 per cent of the votes in the Ashanti Region.
He explained that in the year 2000, when there was a call for change which made Ashantis vote massively for the NPP, they could not get 80 per cent of votes cast, and asked how then can they get 96 per cent when NDC has bounced back.
Mr Agyekum said NDC is not crying wolf for nothing, "we have factual information from their own camp telling us their modus operandi in stuffing ballot boxes, that is why we are telling you to be vigilant on voting day".
He called on the NDC supporters to remain calm at any extreme provocation and said, "we should not do anything that would create confusion at the polling stations.
Mr DeGraft Fokuo, NDC parliamentary candidate for the constituency, said the die is cast and NDC is poised for victory on Tuesday, adding, "all we need from you is to remain loyal and cast your vote for NDC". Similar rally was held at Ofoase.
