Techiman (B/A), Sept. 1, GNA - Mr Sulemana Owusu, Brong Ahafo Regional Deputy National Democratic Congress (NDC0 Youth Organiser has appealed to traditional rulers to help promote peace and understanding among the people for incident-free general election in December. He made the call when he led a delegation of the Party from the Techiman North Constituency to Nana Twum Poku-Brempong II, Twafohene of Techiman Traditional Area, on the occasion of the celebration of his annual Munukusie Yam festival.
Mr Owusu, also the Techiman North Constituency NDC Youth Organizer, advised members of the Party to comport themselves at political rallies and during the December general election.
The Youth Organizer introduced Mr Simon Addae, NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Techiman North Constituency and appealed to the people to vote for him.
"Nananom should pray for NDC to win power in the up-coming elections to enable it to continue developing the state", Mr Owusu said.
Nana Poku-Berempong II, Chief of the Atomaase Family of Techiman, urged members of the family to live above reproach and be good role models to win the respect of other people.
He advised the youth of the family to guard against partisan politics and never allow themselves to be used by political leaders to cause confusion and violence in the communities.
The chief called on parents in the family to enrol their children in school and support them to grow and acquire gainful employment. He called on members of the family to live in unity and peace.
Nana Akua Amea, Queen mother of the family, expressed concern about high level of moral decadence among the youth and advised them against illicit sexual practices to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS.
