Kumasi, June 17, GNA - Mr Ebenezer Teye-Larbi, a 2008 National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate has called on the members and supporters of the Party not to lose hope but work assiduously to ensure the success of the Party.

He said 2012 was not far and there was the need for them to avoid detractions and other negative strategies from the opposition and adopt programmes and activities that would facilitate government's efforts to accelerate the socio-economic development of the country. Mr Teye-Larbi was speaking at a rally organized by the Post Office and 007 Volley Park branch of the NDC Anloga Ward in Oforikrom constituency in Kumasi in honour of the Party's Polling Agents and Foot Soldiers.

The Parliamentary Candidate noted that the victory of the Party in a way came from them and they should continue to be resolute and loyal to the Party and also help to its building firmly on the ground. He said members have a lot to do to promote the work of the government now that the NDC was in power at the national, regional and constituency levels.

Mr Evans kwabla Ablordeppey, Oforikrom Constituency Organizer thanked all party faithful who helped the NDC in diverse ways before, during and after the 2008 presidential and parliamentary elections. He said, "President Mills and the NDC thank all of you who helped to bring the party to power. We also thank our party agents and foot soldiers who sacrificed their lives to ensure victory for the NDC." "We the NDC members in Oforikrom will not sit down for the 2012 election to come before we start organizing our members and also increase our membership. I will make sure that all the 90 branches under me were well- organized", he stressed.

Mr Joe Osei Broni, former Oforikrom Propaganda Secretary felt that the party came to power through divine intervention because he personally did not think the party could come to power. He appealed to supporters and members of the party to eschew arrogance, selfishness and other divisive tendencies and campaign decently and in a respectful manner in their membership drive. 17 June 09
