The NDC members accused the NPP PC of transporting voters from Kasoa into the constituency
Members of the Assin Central National Democratic Congress (NDC) have invoked curses on the Electoral Commission (EC) officials and the Assin Central New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Godfred Nti Anewu.
They allege that he transported individuals from Kasoa to transfer their votes to the Assin Central Constituency.
The incensed party members slaughtered sheep to invoke the river gods, Antoa Nyama and Betinsin, to deal with anyone intending to rig the December general election in the Assin Central Constituency.
Agartha Yawson, the Assin Central NDC Women’s Organizer, led the group in invoking the dreaded deity against the NPP candidate.
Abdoni Emmanuel, the Assin Central NDC Communications Officer, warned the Assin Central NPP leadership to cease busing non-residents to vote in Assin Central or face their wrath.
The Assin Central Electoral Commission officials have declined to comment on the matter.
Meanwhile, Godfred Nti Anewu, the Assin Central NPP candidate, stated in a telephone conversation that he is innocent of all the accusations being leveled against him.
He expressed confidence that the curses of the NDC would not be effective.
