A deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, says he has no ulterior motive for contesting the party’s vacant General Secretary Position other than to serve and strengthen the structures of the umbrella family than before.

With his message, “Party First”, the former Director of Communications at the Presidency believes that it is only when the structures of the NDC are strengthened that the they could strongly bounce back to reclaim power from their political rivals, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 general elections.

He therefore wants the delegates of the NDC to massively vote him to make the dream of winning power from the NPP a reality.

“With my message as ‘Party First’, it means let’s respect the party structures first and I know we will win election 2020 hands down”, he noted.

Mr. Anyidoho made this observation when interacting with Accra-based Okay FM, Monday, August 27, 2018.

Asked whether he is in the race to unseat the incumbent, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah from the General Secretary position, the outspoken Anyidoho retorted “I’m not in the race to contest anybody. In life, one has to make progress and that is exactly what I am doing. I have a clean heart; I have a clear conscience; I also have a clean mind and I know why I am contesting. God will decide who wins the contest”.

Asked whether he has any reason to fear the delegates, Mr. Anyidoho said “Respect delegates but don’t underestimate them. They know what they want”.
