The National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Dr Kwabena Adjei, is likely to retain his seat in the party’s upcoming national executive elections, Pollster Ben Ephson has predicted.

According to him, although he is yet to conduct any scientific polls on the internal elections, the number of individuals contesting the former Nkonya MP for the position makes it easier for him to sail through.

“The more competitors that stand against the incumbent, the better chance they have of getting re-elected,” Ephson told Starr Today, Wednesday, October 8.

He added: “The three who are contesting him are likely to split the anti-Kwabena Agyei votes, and make it easier for him to sail through. If Kwabena Adjei loses then it means he is very unpopular because the rest are all sharing the against votes”.

“But I think the odds favour him because the others will split their strength” the Managing Editor of the Dispatch newspaper observed.

Dr Kwabena Adjei is being challenged by three others - NADMO boss, Kofi Portuphy, former Trade Minister Dan Abodakpi and first Vice-chair of the party, Alhaji Hudu Yahya.

The NDC is yet to disclose the venue for its elections which comes up in November this year.
