I.T expert, Osei Kwame Griffiths has asked Ghanaians to ignore the Electoral Commission’s (ECs) claim that ‘none of their staff were trained on BVMs and that they were solely reliant on the vendor for the management of the system.

According to the I.T expert, the Jean Mensa led administration organised a training for her staff, as well as a private company, Fairgreen Limited at a cost of 333, 500 dollars in 2018 which is equivalent to about 2 million cedis.

He made this revelation at an Inter-Party Resistance of New Voters’ Register meeting in Accra Monday, February 3, 2020.

The programme was to give reasons why Ghana does not need a new voters register for the 2020 elections.

General Secretary of the Party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia during his presentation in the meeting stressed that the Jean Mensa led EC is a bunch of commissioners who want to lead the country into confusion.

According to him, setting November 8 as the date the new register will be ready does not make sense since it gives a limited time for necessary procedures such as filing for presidential and parliamentary slots as well as balloting on aspirants before the general elections on December 7.

He is of the view that the EC’s actions of having just 29 days to the general elections is a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise voters.
