The National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiabgah, has raised an alarm over the NDC's planned approach to the 2024 general election.

Addressing a press conference in Kumasi over the alleged assault on a CSU student, Mr. Ahiabgah alleged that the opposition party, after realizing its impending humiliating defeat in the 2024 elections, has resorted to approaching the general election with violence.

According to him, the NDC's recent attack on the CSU student, who only expressed his views during Mahama's public lecture on Wednesday, reaffirms their determination to approach the 2024 election with violence.

"Yes, it is something known to the general public that the NDC has threatened to face the 2024 election with violence. They know why they are doing that, and that is what they have just started," he said.

Urging the Ghana Police to be alert to the NDC's intentions, he warned that steps must be taken to stop them from perpetrating violence; otherwise, the NPP may be compelled to face them equally.

"We can squarely face them if they make any attempt to undermine the peace of this country. However, our love for peace always pushes us to remain calm, not that we don't have men. This is why we are telling the police to be alert since the NDC has plans to destroy our peace, especially during the 2024 election," he said.

He further accused the former president of allegedly commending the perpetrators in a video for beating up the NPP TESCON member and called on him to clarify whether he was indeed commending the perpetrators.

Nana Boakye, a member of the NPP TESCON at the Christian Service University College, was allegedly assaulted after calling the former president, John Dramani Mahama, a loser during a public lecture.

Meanwhile, the NPP National Communications Director insists that the NPP TESCON member did not err in saying Mahama would lose.
