The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has described the recent Press Conference and speech of the opposition National Democratic Congress as “tasteless’ and “unappetizing”.

Last Tuesday, the NDC held a Press Confrence in Accra, where they accused the President, Nana Akufo- Addo, of condoning the pervasive corruption that has engulfed his appointees and his government as a whole.

The presser was also in response to the President’s assertion that he was fighting corruption the best way he knows how- which is to ensure that the various state agencies responsible function without fear or favour.

The President, at this year's Bar Conference, on Monday said it was untrue that he was shielding corrupt officials in his government, adding that the tag ‘Clearing Agent’ was unfair.

Reacting to the NDC’s press conference, John Boadu, described NDC’s speech as “bad character smearing”.

He also said the speech read at the press conference reflects the party’s ethos and principles. “The NDC’S speech on Tuesday does reflect their ethos, it is a shame that it does not seem to have work for them. I suppose if you have been doing the same unimaginative, distractive things for the past 27years, the longest since any entity has ruled our nation Ghana, It is difficult for the NDC to switch gears. It has been their stock for 27years, they cannot come up with truly innovative ideas, as they say, it is difficult to teach old dogs new tricks. Mr Boadu stated.

John Boadu addressed the media in Accra on Wednesday afternoon.
